The Cedars of Lebanon
- The most famous tree in the world is the Cedar of Lebanon.
- The Lebanon Cedar is extremely resilient to extreme weather and temperatures and insects. The wood, resin, and oil of the tree are used as a repellent to insects.
- The Lebanese mountains were once covered with Cedars. In fact, the Cedars of Lebanon formed one great big forest. Unfortunately due to deforestation and over exploitation, all that is left today is 18 scattered patches of protected Cedar land.
- The Cedars of Lebanon have been mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh, The Bible, and by countless authors and poets.
